I totally scored this beautiful bird flannel the other day at Hancocks. I knew it had to become the most soft pajama pants ever.
I used my Shirred Pajama Pants Tutorial and it worked out just great. I had to adjust the inner elastic a bit after finishing them, but I’ll be wearing these the rest of the winter for sure! I was thinking that I could add a couple free pattern pieces if anyone is interested. It would just be for a small/medium women’s size since I just drafted them myself. I also added a fun little bit of a cuff on the bottom instead of a bound edge like the tutorial. I quite like it, plus it makes it really easy to adjust the length of the pants to be just right.
I had looked around quick after locking eyes with the birds and couldn’t really find a great coordinating flannel to go with it. Turns out the other purple flannel with white polka dots went together just peachy if I do say so. I might even have to go back and nab some more to make some for the girls for Kids Clothes Week. Are you sewing anything? I’m having a hard time figure out what my girls will actually use and wear. I think I’ll do some rummaging through my Pinterest boards tonight and hopefully get inspired to just sew something!
Pattern: Shirred Pajama Pants
Fabric: Flannels from my local Hancock Fabrics
Ribbon: Measuring Tape ribbon, Jacey has some in her etsy shop (be sure to check back when her shop is back open!)
Well, have a lovely Thursday!
How many yards did you use? They are beautiful!
Pretty pretty please add some pattern pieces! I have some fanfare flannel that I want to make into pj pants and was wondering if your shirred tutorial would work well but I just haven’t had the time to draft my pattern pieces. And now I think I might need to go check out my Hancocks because I love those birds!
Gah! These are so crazy cute!
I love these…and that measuring tape ribbon is so cute. I will have to check her shop!
I would love it if you would share your pattern pieces! I just finished a pair of pj bottoms made from a commercial pattern and I’m not at all happy with them.
Oh those look gorgeous! I just want to stroke that fabric
Muy chulos!!!

Love them so hard! Yes would definitely be interested in pattern pieces. That fabric was a lucky find. Great pics too.
Yes Please! I’m very interested in pattern pieces! That is just about the prettiest flannel I have seen, and your add of the purple is ever so perfect. I have made pj bottoms before from a pattern and they are a far cry from yours. Beautiful job!!
I love the fabric! I would be interested in the pattern pieces as well.
Oh you did such a fabulous job with these – they fit so beautifully and are adorable!! Love the purple dots with the birds!!!!
These look so comfortable. it would be hard to get dressed in the morning!
Love these so much! They kinda almost a little bit make me want to sew with flannel and have a reason to wear it!
Get outta town with that fabric!! I’m so jealous. And I’d looooove to have those pattern pieces!
They are so adorable, I’d love to give them a try.
I have two yards of beautiful fabric upstairs waiting to be sewn in pj pants for myself. Dare I say it’s been sitting there for an entire year?? 🙂 Jealous of yours! (Oh, and I did dust the machine off and made my 3 yr old a little blouse- I just have to put the finishing touches on it! yay!)
Very nice and much to nice to switch the lights of for sleeping ;-)!
Greetings from Germany

That measuring tape ribbon is adorable! Ah!
Pattern pieces would be great! These are so cute!
Those are very pretty, Anna! Love the fabrics. I’m skipping KCW again. I never seem to remember about it or plan for it or have the time. One day…
Oh heaven. I do love a bird print. Possibly my favourite fabric at the moment is this one: http://fabricrehab.co.uk/fabrics/flight-charcoal/ so you can see why I like your pyjamas so much!
That fabric is unbelievably beautiful… I can’t believe it’s flannel!! Total score there, nice job!! 🙂
These look amazingly cozy! I’d love pattern pieces too – a bunch of my pajama pants are getting a bit worn.
these are just lovely! as a tall girl I really ought to learn to make my own pjs (as surely they are about as simple as clothes sewing get, if i avoid jersey) as it’s getting to £40 odd quid for jammie bottoms here nowadays!
love love love!
Such dreamy fabric! I love it with that purple. Looks so wintry, yet warm.
Love that fabric!! These are beautiful PJ pants, I think I’d live in them too, if I could!

I would love pattern pieces for small/medium! It looks so confortable!!
Oh, I missed this, but thanks for mentioning my shop! And I adore these pants! I need to stitch up a pair for myself before it gets hot again in Texas! <3
