basket for baby

It’s been slow and steady on the sewing front.  I guess I just haven’t felt that ‘need’ to make like I usually do.  But you know what, there are babies arriving in these parts, and if anything gets me sewing — it’s babies!

I saw this pin on pinterest and really thought it would be a super nice idea for a new baby gift filled with goodies.  So I messed around and came up with this lovely little divided handled basket.  I really like the way it turned out.  Filled it with some diapers, lotion, a treat for mom, a sleeper, and a handful of these pre-fold diaper burp cloths that I added some trim to (totally copied Gail on the whole burp cloth idea).

I’m excited to gift this one away!

The zig zag is a Premier Prints home dec weight and the lining is Habitat by Jay McCarrol.  Perfect combo for a baby boy!
