I’m really pumped that Susan and Adrienne are putting their trust in me today to show you my first ever clothing tutorial for the fabulous Skirt Week going on over at their blog Crafterhours. Eeek! Lookie Mom, can you believe it?!
I’ve really been finding great style inspiration with some pretty classic vintage pieces. I’ve fallen in love with danish modern furniture and all the great vintage housewares out there. My yellow skirt was inspired by vintage Cathrineholm enamelware:
Such an amazing design and I thought it would look amazing on a skirt!
side seam pockets to store all your goodies
And of course this skirt would be just as beautiful with any printed fabric you like as well.
If you’re ready for the full tutorial, hop on over to Crafterhours today!

I love the contrast of the navy with the white stripes. Lovely.
So great, Anna! I love that you made a clothing tutorial for us all! Thank you!
This is great! My mom dug out some old fabric that her mom had bought waaay back in the day for $0.75/m! I’ve been looking around for a skirt pattern and think yours would be perfect for it! Thanks for sharing!
Love the designs! Very beautiful work! π
I love your skirts especially the yellow one. How could the sun not shine when tempted with such loveliness!
Love both of those skirts! Totally classic! Good job!!
What an adorable skirt! And of course I LOVE the pockets!
YES! No zipper, but not a fully gathered waistband, either. I’ve been wanting to sew a skirt for myself, and this I think I can handle. Thanks so much, Anna!
These are both adorable- but I LOVE that blue one! Going to check out the tute now… π

Skirts with pockets are the best.
I love the yellow one, it is so gorgeous and summery.
Who would have thought! So cute, Anna!
Fantastic, Anna. I can’t believe this is your first clothing tutorial. Love the pockets.
In my forty (eek gads!) years of sewing I think I’ve made every garment silhouette out there, including this skirt. Love it and love going down memory lane if only for a minute.
Really beautiful, and nicely photographed. I’ve always wanted a set of that kitchenware, but it looks like I may have to settle for a skirt.
Love this skirt, but want an apple tunic even more.
I am so in love with this skirt. Moving it to the top of my to-do list!
Wow…both of these skirts are so sweet…you’re awesome! I found your blog FROM crafterhours…I hope to use your tutorial and try to make my own. THANKS!!!
I just had to comment on the word ‘vintage’. I have that exact white enamel bowl given to us for our wedding in 1968 and it still looks as good as the day we got it. I didn’t think of myself as ‘vintage’ but I guess I have gotten there. Love your blog and read it quite often.
Hey Kimberley! oh gosh, hope vintage doesn’t sound like a bad thing. And wow, that’s so cool, I’d love to own a piece like that! Great designs never go out of style.
