Hannah’s Graduation Survival Pouch

Better late than never…a survival pouch!

Hopefully Hannah will be using this a bunch when she’s away at college!  Her favorite color is green so I thought this Amy Butler print would suit her well.  I tossed in a bunch of survival supplies such as an address book, detergent wipes, first aid kit, some gum — just a few fun things.  Go Hannah, we know you’re having a blast!

New serger!

I was incredibly excited and nervous about my new serger.  I ordered it from amazon and then left it in the box for a few extra days, read and watched the instructions, then decided to dive in.  I made a set of baby wipes tonight for a friend using really nice organic cotton flannel I bought from Vegala.etsy.com .  I made them 8×8 and used a 3 thread overlock and rounded the corners.  It was nice to practice on something relatively easy!

Sewing

in the beginning…

I’ve been considering for a couple months now about re-starting my blog.  I’ve discovered my new hobby that I’m pretty much addicted to now — sewing.   I discovered the whole blogging community of sewers (is that a word?) and hope I can make a tiny contribution and maybe make a few friends along the way, learn some great tricks and have fun!  Hopefully someone will want to look at this, but if not at least I’ll have a records of the things I’ve made.  A list of things I’ve made for my noodleheads! Here’s a few I’ve been working on…

My buttercup bag (and coordinating wallet), a great pattern from Made by Rae.  I am in love with her talents.

My mom’s birthday present, the multitasker tote by Anna Maria Horner.  I made this one at 75%.

Grand Revival Flea Market Bag!  My friend Jill ended up with this one, I love the Good Folks fabric that I purchased from fabric.com on this one.
