I’m so excited about making this knit raglan shirt! I had purchased the yarn dyed jersey knit from Fancy Tiger Crafts without a pattern in mind, but it was such a pretty fabric I couldn’t pass it up. The Bethioua Raglan Shirt was a pattern I purchased as part of IndieSew‘s Mini Winter Collection. I love how easy Allie makes it to put together a great look without having to scour the internets until all hours of the night (even though admittedly I like doing that, too). I also like the fact that she sews every pattern. It makes me feel really confident in purchasing any pattern from her shop. She even started sourcing great garment fabrics to go with the patterns. I think she must work 24 hours a day. 😉

Anyway, I was excited to match up the Bethioua with the knit and come away with this top that will certainly get worn a ton. It was soooo lightning fast to sew (even assembling the pattern pieces was pretty quick as there are only three pattern pieces – front, back, and sleeve). The cuff and neckband are given as measurements which was super awesome and easy to cut quickly with my rotary cutter and ruler.

I also re-threaded my serger with cones of black and gray thread! I hardly ever switch from my white cones, but I knew this fabric needed darker thread colors. It’s so worth it for the few minutes of aggravation it causes. Maybe I’ll seriously consider one of the self-threading sergers one of these days. I did manage to make the hem a bit wavy, but I think after washing it’ll calm back down.

The thing I love most about this pattern might be the way the sleeves wrap around the back. Looove that! It adds such a fun detail. Along with the shoulder darts it makes for such a nice fit. I’m excited to try a few more versions now that I know how quick and comfy it is!

Heya! I’m so so pumped about this dress. I will be guaranteed to be spotted around town wearing it. Even though now the 3/4 length sleeves are a bit warm, come fall it’ll be awesome. Even in the winter over some leggings it’ll be perfect, throw on a cardi and I’ll be cozy. I dream about fall when the weather gets hot and humid here in Wisconsin. Sorry, but I like wearing clothes!

This is Sara Lawson’s new fabric Jungle Ave in the loveliest knit ever. It’s super soft and washed up really great. Art Gallery did it up right! I can’t wait for all the other collections to release their knit and voiles. So dreamy for clothes.

I’ve made a regular Plantain a few weeks ago. Plus, ever since the pattern came out I’ve had Paunnet’s post about altering it into a dress on the brain. I don’t wear dresses too often, but a cozy knit one, yes.

Hope you’re having the best summer ever wherever you are! We’ve been jumping from one park & rec program to the next, and it’s been great! Plus I’ve been running! My husband and I took up running earlier this spring and whew, a workout! Our last run was 4.6 miles, farthest I’ve ever run. Plus it keeps my mind from going a little crazy.

It’s summer! And my closet is looking pretty empty. I have a lot of dumpy tees great for running in, but I need a few things that’ll look a bit nicer. And don’t get me started on shorts!

Adrianna (Hey June), you know, my stiff competition from Project Sewn? Well, she makes pretty rad patterns and this is one of them (Union St. Tee). The instructions are just right. If you’ve sewn a knit top before you’ll breeze right through. Even if you haven’t sewn a knit tee before you’ll do great! Adrianna really did a great job with keeping the instructions condensed enough, yet the perfect amount of information you’ll need to complete your project. I like to have just the right amount so I’m not stumped anywhere, but I don’t want a novel either! A little Goldie Locks I am.

The options are great! I love the v-neck, makes me wish I wore v-necks. All the different sleeve lengths really will come in handy when the seasons turn. For now I stuck with the basic scoop and short sleeve. Sure, I could have gone out to Target and found a comfy striped tee, but seriously! I made this with one yard of knit fabric that I had in my stash. It’s actually a really high quality knit I picked up in a remnant pile. Can’t get better than that.
