This Divided Basket in Orchard Run was a last-minute sample I knew I had to make! I grabbed this combination of fabrics and knew it had to be.

I love these colors, they’re sweet and cute. They’re perfect for a baby gift or to organize some crafts. I’ve loved making these baskets for many years, but haven’t managed to keep one for myself yet. I guess that means they make great gifts! I’ve also seen people use the basket for pattern or fat quarter storage.

Orchard Run is printed on an 80% cotton, 20% Flax basecloth. It’s 6.5 oz. per square yard, which makes it sort of like a light to mid-weight canvas. Definitely heavier than a quilting cotton which is 4.3 oz. per square yard. It has a great texture and pairs really well with all of Robert Kaufman Fabric’s Essex, Essex Yarn Dyed, and Essex Yarn Dyed Homespun fabrics. It’s very easy to work with and presses really nicely which is always a bonus.

I’m not sure who this basket might end up with, but it’s nice to have for last-minute gifts! Check out the Divided Baskets I’ve made in the past:
