Yayyyy! A quilt!!! I love quilts! I think you probably might, too! This is the only project I didn’t personally make for my new fabric collection. My friend Emily of Quilty Love made this gorgeous Hexie Pop Quilt using Around the Bend for me!!! I am so lucky to know such a talented and kind quilter. If you’re not familiar with Emily’s work you’re in for a treat! Stop by her blog for tons of quilt inspiration.
So when I was deciding on what projects to help showcase Around the Bend, Hexie Pop was at the top of my list for quilts. It is the perfect way to showcase fabrics and love it so much!
I sent Emily over seven prints from Around the Bend and some Kona Natural for the background. Kona Natural is such a versatile fabric, I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it! You know I loved using it for the Paper Cuts quilt I made for my Quarry Trail collection. From there we added some Carolina Gingham in Fog for the backing (this is the 1″ gingham) and Kona Ice Peach for the binding! If you haven’t tried Carolina Gingham for a backing – you should! It’s the most soft!
Emily did such a fantastic job on this quilt. She tells me that this pattern is great for beginners and is quick to make! She’s a mom to four of the cutest kids so I know she doesn’t mess around with her time! Sounds like the perfect project – I think I’ll have to make one myself!
