A dress! You know it wouldn’t be complete without showing you what you can make for garments! This is the Farrow Dress featuring Around the Bend! If you’re looking for a beautiful a-line dress with a fun construction — this is the dress!
Jen (from Grainline Studio) is one of my go-to pattern sources for garments. When she published the pattern I knew I was going to love the Farrow Dress pattern. I hadn’t made one until now though! I do remember being able to see some in person when I taught a workshop at Sewtopia a few years ago, and well, it took me that long to get around to making one! The pattern is very beginner friendly and after cutting only takes a few hours to sew up – maybe even less.
I love the way the pockets are cleverly built in. It makes for some fun shaped pieces and is fun to sew together. This is the sleeveless view, but it also has a long sleeve option, too.
I couldn’t be happier with this dress and would definitely like to sew it up again! If you’re looking for a summer dress you might want to add this to your list. Oh! And because the base cloth is a cotton/linen blend it just keeps getting softer the more you wash it!
Here are a few more garments I’ve sewn in the past using my fabric collections:
- Pearl Dress (Forage)
- Kalle Shirtdress (Forage)
- Cleo Skirt (Forage)
- Wiksten Shift Dress (Driftless)
- Ilford Jacket (Quarry Trail)
