So I’m feeling a little crazy lately. Mostly thinking a lot about summer and all the fun activities that my family and I will get to do. We’re busy planning out library trips, canoeing, biking, tubing, and camping. I love thinking about the possibilities almost as much as actually doing them! Plus I think since we got 8″ of snow just a couple days ago that I’m really wanting Spring to hurry up!
My girls both have little wallets they’ve acquired since I’ve been sewing. But I’m always afraid that they’ll end up losing them somewhere – and then we’d be out of ice cream money! So I knew a lanyard on a Zippy Wallet would be so fun and cute and hopefully a little less likely to get lost or misplaced.
Natalie picked out this pretty Leah Duncan print. Emily likes anything blue so I showed her my Rain Walk print and she said ‘perfect’. Natalie and I sewed hers together. There’s a lot more techniques to the Zippy Wallet than the pouch we made for her teacher for Christmas. It took a little more time, I would sew a for a bit and then she would sew. In the end it turned out super cute and we got to learn a few more things along the way (like how not to press fabrics like a crazy person).
Now to load them up with their library cards an a little bit of money! Hope you have a great weekend!
Pattern: Zippy Wallet (with added Lanyard)
Fabrics: Leah Duncan’s Meadow and Rain Walk (by me)
What a great idea.
Such a nice idea! And they both look really happy (& cute! 😉 )
Such lovely girls & a great idea. Signed, an auntie who recently had to deal with a 6-year-old who lost her ice cream money.
What a great idea and the little wallets are super adorable!! I can’t believe how big your girls are getting- so pretty! Have a great weekend!:)
Great idea! Love their fabric choices…..your girls are getting so grown up. Beautiful girls!
Thanks bunches Leanne! Miss ya!
Your daughters are such beautiful young ladies Anna….and the wallets are cute too lol
What a great idea!! I always fumble with my IDS and stuff in an airport…this would be a great solution to my problem!! =P
This would be a good way to carry my ID/car keys when walking around our local park. I’d also prefer using this over carrying my purse at the local farmer’s market.
how cute are your girlies?! so sweet, esp the last pic. and I agree, cmon Spring!
You have the best models!
Lovely!
Where did you get the ring/clips? I need to make about 30 these for a church camp I’m putting together for August!
Hi Treen, thanks for your comment. I got these on etsy. I’m pretty sure these ones I purchased from SewingSupplies. 🙂
Very cute and useful. Do the lanyards have breakaway clips?
Thanks Carolyn. I haven’t yet, but I think I might add a small snap or a bit of velcro at an opening on the back of the neck just in case something should happen.
What a great ideal
Great idea. I like them a lot. I am wondering if they could be made to hold a cell phone? Like to have my phone when out doing activities, but some clothes don’t have pockets.
I already made the zippy wallet (thanks btw), but what is the best way to put the tab on for the lanyard?
Hi
Love the pouch
Do you sell them ?
I don’t sell them, sorry!
