Amanda (Crazy Mom Quilts) is such a huge inspiration to me. I remember finding her blog and commenting on one of her quilts, and she wrote me back! It was so fun to know she was somewhat local to me. It wasn’t until a few years ago that we got to meet in person. Amanda is one of the most genuine and honest people I know. I love how curious she is about sewing and quilting and life. I love how she takes such awesome care of her family. And of course I love that she designed fabric! Yep! In case you haven’t heard, she has the cutest line of fabric for Connecting Threads called Good Neighbors. Ah! The name, so perfect.
With Amanda’s years of quilting experience it’s obvious she has amazing skills to design fabric. She has a great instinct of what goes together and what works well together in a project.
So I was excited to work with Good Neighbors! It definitely makes a cute pincushion. I fumbled around with a few ideas and finally landed on inspiration from a classic quilt design, the Wagon Wheel. This is inspired by the pattern in Denyse Schmidt’s Modern Quilts Traditional Inspiration. I love the colors and actually managed to select most of the cool colors in the collection. Lately I’ve been feeling drawn to blues, so it’s a nice change of pace. I do love the cheery warm tones of the group, too. My girls squealed a bit as I flipped through the charm pack.
You can check out the full Good Neighbors collection at Connecting Threads.
And be sure to check out the whole month of stops filled with super awesome pincushions!

Oh, Anna! You did a beautiful job on these! I love the wagon wheel inspiration…and three of them make the cutest set. Thank you for your sweet words, too, you made me blush all sorts of red. Thanks for being a part of the pin cushion party! xoxo
Love this pin cushion AND the fabric. Will there be an upcoming tutorial featuring this sweet pin cushion?
Love the pincushions! Such a cool idea. I’d love to see a tutorial for the pincushion, too. Or if you could at least tell us how you sewed the bottom circle to the side strip after you sewed the top circle to it, that would be great.
Oh these are adorable! I love that you made three, they look so great together. Your sewing box is gorgeous too!
Lovely pincushions! And that sewing box/caddy!! Where did you buy that?
There turned out so adorable! Also hoping you create a tutorial on how to make them 🙂
