I’m re-naming this version of the Poolside Tote because it went Lakeside on it’s photo shoot (to Lake Neshonoc that is). I love how the colors look this time of year and by the lake on a cloudy fall day, you can’t get much better. This Poolside was made using Vanessa‘s new collection for Moda Fabrics – Color Theory. It’s super fresh and graphic and colorful, and of course plays so well with all her other collections.
I love making this big tote! And every time I make it, I fall in love again. I like using the quilting to stiffen things up. It makes for a really rugged tote!
Whatcha been making this fall? Up to your neck in Halloween costume sewing? I’m supposed to make Natalie a candy corn costume and Emily wants to be Olaf. It’ll be a good test at how creative I can get, I’m gonna need it!

Finished my costumes last night! We are headed to Disneyworld on Saturday! I just have to get through tomorrow. Still do much to do.
That’s a gorgeous version. I’ve got to look at those fabrics!! Good luck with the costumes.
nice 🙂
Supercute!!
Anna, I love the poolside tote I made and use it almost daily as my library bag. Love all the ones you made too.
I just finished up an Olaf costume. I love how it turned out!!! I used as baseball cap for the head.
The poolside tote is my favourite bag. It gets used for everything & I don’t need an excuse to make more!! I just have to decide on the fabric
This bag is so adorable! I love it. What kind of interfacing did you use? I still haven’t decided on interfacing for my next poolside tote.
Thanks so much! In the pattern I recommend 3 different scenarios. This one I used the cotton canvas, then low loft cotton batting on top, then the quilting cotton and quilted it all together. I still used a mid weight denim for the lining. Hope that helps! 🙂
I just love navy and the kelly green together…great combo!
Sorry I meant lime green…i need new reading glasses in the worse way lol
Gorgeous!!! you have a gift for pairing fabrics!
This has been on my “to make” project list since the pattern was released. I love the fabrics on this version!
I love the tote. In fact (I’m new to your site) I love everything I’m seeing here. Including…may I ask where you got those adorable sandals???
Oh thank you! 🙂 The sandals are from Kohl’s.
Seriously… how awesome are your patterns!?!?! LOVING THIS!
