I’m making a few things for Natalie’s upcoming birthday. I can’t believe she’ll be 6, for her it’s not soon enough – all her friends are 6 already according to her.
We’re madly in love with pandas, so I’ve been searching high and low for panda things. Luckily I had this little idea tucked in the back of my brain for a little while. I used the Square Bear pattern from the book Sew Darn Cute by Jenny Ryan as a starting point. I used black flannel for the panda eyes, ears, legs and arms. Put in a little pocket for top secret stuff (maybe even a lost tooth someday) and there you have it.
I think she’s gonna love it.

So cute! And don’t you love having to explain to a child that you just can’t snap your fingers and make them the same age as their friends?? Kids are so funny. 🙂
Ahhh! It’s so cute! Who wouldn’t love it?! 🙂
She is going to freak out about how cute it is! I know I am!!!
DArling stuffie! She’s going to love it!
Oh, that is so, SO CUTE!!! Great job!
Awww, I love it! I’d keep it for myself!
I think she will too! You are always so good at making thoughtful gifts, your girls are lucky!
I literally squealed out loud when I saw this! How stinkin cute!?!?!
Someday I’ll have a little girl and she WILL have one of these. 😉
Love the pocket, my almost 4 year old is obsessed with notebooks (like her mama!) so she would love something like this. Great idea!
I think “Sew Darn Cute” is a very accurate description. I can definitely see myself making that for my daughters in the future.
That’s fabulous! My daughter adores pandas too, and she turns 6 in August. If I start now, maybe I could actually finish one by then!
Sooo cute, Anna!!:) And I love the yoga pants- you are so good at sewing with knits!!
WOW, I love it. I wish I were six 🙁 That is super cute and I am so glad you posted it. I have been looking at all these stuffed adorable things for quite some time and yours just pushed me over the edge. I will attempt one in a while, which might turn out to be a long time. Anyway, thanks for sharing 😉
I think she is going to love it too!! I have that book and it has a lot of cute things in it.

So so Cute! I love the twill tape at the neckline. What a great twist on the pattern. Pinning it!
soo sweet Anna! I’m sure she will be in love with it 🙂
Super cute, Anna. LOVE the panda bear. Maybe I need to figure out how to add an elephant nose. 😉
New reader! I love your blog and that panda is too cute! I have an idea brewing for a softie to make for my daughter too… possibly a lion of some sort because I want to have fun making the mane. LOL. I love handmade toys. 🙂

Such an adorable Panda, Anna! She’s going to love it!
Awwww…this is adorable!!!! I can’t believe she is going to be 6! Wowsa!!! Love it hun!
Oh, now that panda is gorgeous!
So cute, happy birthday to her!
Very cute, my daughter would love this too. She is lucky in that she’s the oldest of her friends, but she was also one of the last to lose her first tooth, and that was a source of much anxiety for her 😉
really cute, my 4yo likes pandas too. in our house they are called ‘boom boom’. dont know how that got started
Adorable! I love the pocket.
Adorable. Any child would love to have that I’m sure.
SO CUTE!!! The heart eyes and the little pockets are just icing on the cake!
Such a lovely panda – absolutely cute!
These are lovely. I thought you were making these as the party bags for her party. I thought it was a brilliant idea, still do. Think I might have to remember this idea and do it for my little ones next party.
Muito lindo! / AMEI!!!!!!!!Quero fazer um pandianha também. Obrigada por compartilhar. Beijos, :-)leíse.
It’s adorable, Anna! Of course she’ll love it. Smart to think ahead about a little tooth pocket. That first lost tooth is SOOO exciting (and the 7th too). Aria got earrings from the tooth fairy on her first tooth, which we figured meant it was time for a piercing. Such fun!
It’s just darling! She’s so lucky to have you as her momma 🙂
I love it! So cute and original. You are one fantastic mom.
I have that book and I have made a few things. I haven’t made the bear, but I love how yours turned out. Guess I will have to try it.
