I’m trying to eek out a few more clothes for the girls while I:
a) still feel inspired to make things for them and
b) before summer slips away and it’s fall before I know it
Almost every morning it’s a struggle to get them dressed and it’s so weird, but Natalie almost always picks something that matches what Emily is wearing that day. Dress and dress, skirt and skirt, you get the picture. I guess Emily’s a born leader, I’ll have to let you know how that pans out.
So obviously a dress for each of them in the same style was completely necessary. I’m sure they would have loved me to make something exactly the same (never would have thought that!), but I just can’t bring myself to do it. So I won’t – probably ever.
I used Lil Blue Boo‘s Sundress Tutorial. It’s so sweet and simple, and I knew the girls would love to twirl in them.
Love me a pretty summer dress. ♥
Fabrics: red dress is a mystery print by Bernatex and Hugs and Kisses in Pink and Lime by Anna Maria Horner – Loulouthi.
Blue dress: Loulouthi Buoyancy in Deep by Anna Maria Horner, Kona cotton in coal.
These are gorgeous–beautiful fabrics. I want one in my size!
These dresses are both utterly lovely! The fabric choices are really great, and the animation is fab!
the girls look gorgeous in these dresses the fabric is lovely and i love the last pic :))
Adorable!!! The girls look so cute!!!!!!
Great pics Anna. The girls look so cute! I love the sundresses. I think Hannah needs one too. Like you say, before summer turns to fall.
I’ve got inspiration, fabric, a great tutorial…. now I just need some sewing time.
So cute!! It looks like a really comfy dress! I need to get started on some clothes for preschool (they will both be there this year, yippee!!!!).
Gorgeous little dresses! I love the fabrics that you chose and their faces are just adorable!
So, so pretty!!! I have to know how you did that with your last photo!!!???
I love that puddle pic, too — so cute!
Such adorable little girls and dresses!
So cute! But now I’ve got two more things to add to my to-do list for my girls.
aren’t they just adorable! There’s nothing quite like a new summer’s dress 🙂
Enjoy this while it happens. My girls used to be just like this. I loved making them matching outfits especially cute little dresses. Now my oldest who is 6 weeks away from 13 is way too cool to let her little sister dress like her. It goes by so fast. Enjoy your little ones. They are adorable.
So cute! Awesome fabric combination! Your daughters are so adorable and that animation screams cuteness! ;D
Wonderful! My girls are the same- big one sets the tone for the day. I don’t like matchy matchy either- I’ll have to try these out! that last thing with the movement is so cool! Great job here.
Fun dresses and pictures!! They will also be cute in the fall layered over a white turtleneck. . . . 🙂
the dresses are so cute! great colors. your girls look so fun, too – i love the crazy hair while they’re spinning around.
Beautiful dresses and adorable models! I particularly love the buoyancy print dress 🙂
how funny, I just made an animated gif of a dress I made! Though yours is much nicer. That sundress is on my list as well. Great minds…
Adorable dresses!! Looks like they love them too! 🙂
They are lovely (dresses and the girls!) not seen that tutorial before but I’ll definitely be trying it out!!

Dear Anna: I love your choice of fabrics and the combination of same. You inspire me.
May I ask where you bought the newsprint; i.e., lettered fabric?
Thanks so much
Carole
hey carole,
I think the fabric you’re referring to is:
http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=54837291948215483&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=57592&Parent_Ids=
