spring top week entry

Here’s my first crack at a spring top.  The tutorial I used was actually for a dress, but I made a shirt obviously.  I just can’t wear a v-neck, so I opted to do a boatneck style instead.

I really like how it turned out.  The fabric (Kawaii Springtime Jacks Natural from is really soft and the shirring was fun to do!

So jealous of everyone being able to do shirring… my machine hates it. Either that or I just don’t know what I’m doing!

Thank You!! I’ve got some knit that I want to make into a top just like this (don’t worry–it won’t be finished in time for Spring Top Week) :). Thank you for showing me just what I want to do with it. Its been haunting me since I bouth the fabric two weeks ago. Now I know πŸ™‚

I love this and it looks great on you. I used a Built by Wendy pattern to do a very similar top a few weeks ago and the boat neck was way to high and I got frustrated so it’s sitting in my UFO pile. This is giving me the kick in the butt I needed to go cut off the neck and use bias tape to finish it so I can wear it.
